I know someone who gets 1" 5 shot groups with his MN, and he weighs 270 pounds and wraps himself around the rifle. I think my problem is recoil and too few trips to the range with these rifles. I have one 0.4" 3 shot group at 100y from the M39, but typically with Mosin Nagants I get more like a 1.5" 3 shot group. I use Lapua brass, but I did use some S&B brass in 2004. I am shooting 47 gr bulk IMR4895 with 180 gr Sierra in all my Mosin Nagants. It looks like the only boat tail available. You have any loads for the 174 sierra and H4895 in a Finn m 39?. Has anybody tried these or loads like these with success in the 91/30? The loads I'm considering in PPU Boxer Brass are: 308 diameter bullet weights, but the test rifle is an M44, and I'm kind of apprehensive about how accurate those loads would be with the 91/30.
